How pictures are hung space wise
centre of the work should be eye level, about 140-152cm off the ground. When hanging a pair of works, one above the other, treat them as one large picture. Find the centre point between them and use the same 152cm rule.

Is there a picture of the kitchen in this home?
The picture mold in this room in 1.5 inches wide. We don't think the 1.75 version will feel too 'heavy' as we've seen picture molding profiles that are 4 inches wide or even wider. However, we do strongly recommend
the different profiles and seeing which one will give you the look and shadow lines you want. If you can, we recommend getting a mock-up made from small pieces of each profile option so that you can see them in the space to decide. Thanks for the question and good luck with your project!

First house! It's very small only 850 square feet. I LOVE the openness if the living room and dinning area and kitchen but I'm not sure how to decorate it because it all has to flow! But not enough
Yes, that is a door built-in to the wood paneling underneath the stairs. Good catch on the small knob, that is about the only way you can tell that there is a door.
I'm not sure how we can help, but we would recommend getting in touch with a local designer! Maybe if you have some pictures to post, a few Houzz professionals can give you ideas.
it would appear as if the open part of the panels are approximately 36" x 36" square. You can see on the first full panel on the left side of the picture that it is roughly as wide as 3.5 treads (typically 10"-11") and as tall as 4.5 risers (typically 7"-8"). I hope this helps!
