Also, it appears that some sort of plywood was used on the lower portion. Please explain more if you can. This looks like a great way to hold the costs down on that lower
of the boards in the photos makes it hard to figure out the sizes. If the window trim in indeed 2 by 4 cedar, the battens look to be 3" instead of 4". How big is the rim board between the bark and the upper board and batten? How big is the lower rim board?
Gosh, I love this house! I was trying to make
photo on my computer but did not find a way to capture the photo. Oh well, would have loved to wake up to that every morning, if only on my computer!
cedar -- board and batten ( 2 x 2's over 1 x 8's) with a Cabot Transparent Clear Stain Sealer --
The windows are Marvin -- aluminum clad - I am pretty sure it is one of their standard colors -- bronze.
The painted wood door -- is a color close to the Marvin clad color -- Wineberry.

Like the use of the panel board with the trim with the contrasting materials but do not like the overall concept
