Living Room

This is a renovation of 1950's ranch home. The home was reconfigured in side to make for a wide open floor plan with a dramatic white marble slab fireplace that acts as an anchor and monument for the living spaces. Please note that due to the volume of inquiries & client privacy regarding our projects
Is this considered a "freestanding" fireplace?
Is fireplace surrounded porcelain or glass?
Lambert Marble & Tile in Seattle fabricated and installed the fireplace.
Is the fireplace surround large porcelain slab material?
No, because the fireplace is built into this wall. A free standing fireplace would be something that sits by itself, say in the middle of a room, similar to a gas stove almost.
I still vote Calacutta or Cararra.....would be really surprised to learn it's Statuary. It can't compete in my opinion with the other two. This fireplace is a work of art! Wish the contractor or the builder who did it would tell us for sure. Another alternative is to print the picture and take it

Which is the material used for this fireplace? Copper?
I also want to use this for an entire fireplace wall.
The fireplace and entry surround were paneled with individual pure copper panels contact cemented to the substrate and patinated by jimthomasbronzestudio.com with hot ferric nitrate acid. The patina was sealed with hot carnauba wax which should be re-applied annually. An alternate sealer might be Permalac
Rusted metal fireplace wall - High ceilings
When one decides to clad a tall fireplace in copper, it dominates the room. Here it is balanced by high ceilings, glass and light walls.
This image from yesterday's ideabook on textured fireplaces inspired me to search for other copper uses around the home.

Firewood box and shape of fireplace box, hearth, etc.
stone fireplace face for 2 story open floor plan
I chose this picture only for the low mantle. We could do a thick band mantle or ledge at a couple of heights to break up the face of the fireplace.

Is it your design intent for the shingles to turn a silver gray and the copper clad chimney to turn a verdigris color with time? I admire the detailing and the simple forms of all your work Mr. Noyes.
The chimney is clad with copper panels that will patina to a nice natural color over time. Best, Nick

on the actual fireplace manufacturer. I'm under construction now. Thx!
What is the stone you us,e in this fireplace?
Hi, Can you tell me the dimensions of the actual fireplace and the tv,
and the height off the floor for both? I think it's hard to do a tv over a fireplace and make it look good, but the proportions seem just right here. Thanks!
answering your question. The fireplace is from Town & Country Luxury Fireplaces and the model number is WS54.
Would also like to know the make of the fireplace. Thank you.
We used a product called RealStone Systems www.realstonesystems.com on this fireplace. The colour is Arctic White. We used the same product for the exterior of the home in a different colour.

I love this fireplace design! Might you share any building hints? Thx!
It depends on the fireplace. The building code doesn't govern "clearance to combustibles" on manufactured fireplaces, the fireplace manufacturer does by submitting to ANSI or UL testing standards. Let's just say that it would

Do we want to think about a very modern mantel and fireplace surround?
Wood. Floor-to-ceiling millwork in a coffered design surrounds this fireplace in true classic style, updated with a trendy hue of gray. Design tip: Placing a decorative layer of stone around the firebox opening as well as on the hearth breaks up all the vertical and horizontal lines of the wood moldings
