The patio surface for this project is natural cleft bluestone. The natural surface of the stone actually make it non-slip. Thanks for your question.

What is the blue made of?
Hi- The blue on the ground plane is recycled glass set about 2" thick over a gravel base. The blue on the wall plane is paint over concrete. Thanks, Cathy

Thank you for the kind compliment! We love this look too and use it on many projects. The step stones are Pennsylvania Bluestone, a variety of slate.

A little tip to get this type of look with a lot of different stones is to mix a little plain yogurt with water and spray or brush it on the stone. It will induce moss and oxidation on the stone.

I assume it's just mulch around the stones, correct? thanks
They are roccia blue stone tiles at 16"x16", and are probably around $30/ea.
Yes, you are correct. That is shredded brown hardwood mulch in between the stepping stones. Thank you for your question!
