this terrace is a bold, modem, concrete water feature and a gas fire pit. The gas fire pit was custom built by a firm in Colorado utilizing hand-hammered metal and heat induced patinas. This terrace overlooks the sloped perennial garden. We finished the rear space with a calm stone arrangement emerging
by the community. Relative to site problems and scope, we had extensive drainage issues and encountered solid rock near or at the surface. We hydro-hammered out layers of rock to allow the installation of several feet of topsoil and an extensive network of drain tiles to evacuate water constantly flowing

I have a similar fence in the northwest. The metal is turned sideways. Yes, it will reflect heat in the summer. If you use new metal, you could wipe it down with muratic acid to take away the shine. Commonly used metal is applied. It is as wind resistant as any fence would be. No
love this fence but would like to know if the Corrugated metal is on top of a wooden fence or just on its own. I have a Wooden fence which must stay that I share with neighbors, but really want this look. So I want help in how to attach the Metal ( Or Fiberglass) to the fence. Am concerned about circulation
Steel, iron, and aluminum products may be galvanized; that is, coated with zinc to form a zinc oxide barrier to corrosion of the substrate metal. Zinc can be applied at different thicknesses for more or less protection. Thickness is reflected in the price. Care must be taken in handling to avoid

The metal screen folds up to create a solar shade on the south façade, and in some areas a reflecting pool mirrors the overhang in shape and size. Photography by Andrew Fabin
Using folding metal screens to provide variable amounts of shade is an Interesting idea. I would appreciate knowing: How/where exactly do the shades fold, and is it easy to unfold them on a regular basis? Do you need to use a ladder? How are
are they attached? Do they come with a finish such as enamel paint to protect them from rust? Where would one buy such metal screens? Who is the manufacturer? Thank you!
The perforated metal used here is an excellent choice for this application
exposure. Because it’s made by punching holes from a thin sheet of metal, it’s lighter, which reduces the need for a heavy support structure.

I love this idea for a garden, very NW, but is it safe for vegetables? Will the metal contaminate the soil?
this and be protected, its worth it. (unless you're looking for a 3 year solution). I've never seen metal like this at a building store, look for a local "metal supply" or "metal fabricator." For metal patinaing solutions check out sculptnouveau.com
Will the metal create too much heat?
rust-preventing paint, patinaed the front so it would rust immediately, then applied a 2-part clear coat to protect it. Without the protection, the metal would fail in 3-5 years (and it was heavier gauge than this). I'm hoping my treatments will last at least 10 years. But it didn't end up looking this
