You are correct, they are a dark blue. The brand is LG SteamWasher and Dryer and they were purchased from Gerrit's Appliance.

great question. To start, the gas shut off and water valves are behind the unit, accessible through the access panel in the adjoining closet... The electrical cords and gas whip are long enough to attach just outside of the closet before pushing into the opening; much like a conventional range in a kitchen
