I guess I was unclear in my previous question. I am referring to the top and bottom of horizontal boards - how were they milled? were they just left raw or milled to hide the nails? or were they straight cut so fit together smoothly? I am purchasing barn
reclaimed barn board with a ship lap profile, all milled to the same thickness of 5/8" and of course, it must be kiln dired for interior use. We offer widths of 3"-6" or 4"-8" in a random mix. The boards fit together beautifully, making the installation a breeze! We ship our barn board all over the United

Aren't these weathered gray boards beautiful? I picture that they had a former life as siding on a barn.

purchase the cheapest pine out there but you will have split boards, extremely rough boards etc. We chose to use select pine which has smaller, tighter knots and should have no splits. Upon delivery of the wood, we noticed at least 50% of the boards shouldn't have been even graded "select" due to the flaws
up to sunset sanding, priming the boards, then putty over imperfections, then sanding again, then 2nd coat of primer.....it was a huge job and once installed, we realized we needed to apply an oil base primer because the knots were still bleeding through the boards as we had used water based primer.
floor boards might have been considered. We have rough cut lumber. Very rough and a dust magnet! Sure, you could slather on the high gloss, super thick white paint, but unless its a look your going for, it will be rough and dusty. Also, if your in a newer home you may not have plank floor boards ( it

room, lighting, woodwork, star lit ceiling, acoustic panels, etc, the room build out cost is most likely $20k or so. The seating cost is all over the board but I'll through out a $10k number as a minimum for all the seating. Then there's the AV gear. In this room the front 3 speakers are around $12k.
