LOVE how this makes an attic or loft space work for a bedroom
sleeping space tucked into the top of the cube is just enough room for a bed, clothes storage and a bookshelf. A skylight keeps the sloped ceiling from feeling too close and allows for natural light in the tiny nook.

I love the armoire...and the suspended bed deck...
Maybe on a smaller scale, I love the "get-away" loft idea. All kids need their own private space to allow their imaginations to grow. Although, this would be something for a child that is of a certain age. I wouldn't
great idea to fit many beds in one room
also added sturdy rope that connects to a ceiling truss and a ladder that also provides structural support. “I’ve swung from the rope and jumped on the bed,” Gonzalez says, “because you know they will.”

Proof positive that lofts can be sophisticated, this contemporary bedroom incorporates a loft bed that is sleek and stylish.
For the young and young at heart? Okay, so a bunk bed might be a hard sell for adult guests, but if the view to the left is a stunner, I imagine you'd have some takers. More ideas for the guest room: 15

We are converting our attic into a loft, but have been told we can't do a ladder because it doesn't meet code. Must be a ladder. How do get around this?
What is the size of the loft area?
good to know thanks for getting back to me but the loft wouldn't work for us too old to climb those stairs at night for washroom runs teeee heeeee
The loft is 17'x8'. You can see the floor plan (and download the full portfolio of Lucia's Little Houses for free!) here: http://knightarchitect.com/lucias
Unfortunately, you may not be able to get around it. Where this house was built there were no code restrictions that prohibited this loft ladder. Your best bet it to talk to builders in your area and see if they have ever built something that satisfies the code in your area.
