Could you kindly tell me what base you used in which to plant this rooftop garden? how deep was your soil ?
what materials do I need and what type of plants?
Best green roof ever! I want a green roof on our new desert home. I would love to have many
I really like the patterns in the plants.
could we do this on one of our roofs?
Green roof - first steps: Once your contractor
to treat the roof as a canvas, more so than a typical green roof, and designed it as a living piece of art, full of succulents and other plants found throughout the project.
First steps: Once your contractor has installed and water tested the membrane, your roof is ready to be planted. There are two
two ways to do this: Use a modular system of planted living roof trays.Add soil and plant your roof as though it were a garden in the ground, as shown here.

The roof is sloped to scuppers on the edge of the parapets and drains to downspouts. The liveroof system sits on top of this and freely drains. The decking is built on tapered PT sleepers that are cut to fit the slope of the roof below.

Green Roofs
What species of plant are in the foreground? They look spectacular together!
innovative technologies like green roofs (sometimes called living roofs) to increase the amount of green space on a small lot.
The hills are alive! Are you more of a country dweller at heart? Bring an Alpine summer meadow to your rooftop by planting a living roof and you’ll instantly be transported
transported out of the city. Get expert advice before you start, as your roof will need to be properly re-enforced, but then get as creative as you like with coloured and scented plants.
Here we can see more of its appeal. The roof itself is pretty, but it also is located to be seen by the upper floors in the adjacent house, which has its own planters and a smaller patch of green roof.

I do not see gutters on the roof. How is the run-off being handled?
I have a metal roof and no gutters (too many trees everywhere around the house) but the erosion is causing hard compacted soil. Looking at
Is this a metal seam roof fabricated with a bronze coloration? If not, what's the material used?
We are needing to make a decision on a metal roof and would love to know what you used. It's beautiful. Thanks

Stunning! What is the red plant please?
The red plant is blood grass this is not a proper name but I believe it is a name you can look up to find it . It is very easy to grow and not real aggressive.
As an Architect I can appreciate the cylindrical shape of the roof, which in turn also immitates the covering of the chimney!

grass Imperata cylindrica 'Red Baron'. Planted here in blocks, they really are breathtaking. It's not the easiest to grow, needing full sun in a moist soil. Strangely, the color starts at the tips of the shoots in spring and gradually suffuses through the plant. It is worth remembering that leaves change

extensive green roof with flowering sedum and other plants. Note the perimeter walkway: green roofs are typically not accessible, meaning one does not walk ON sedum plants. Gravel or other walkways are important for maintenance and accessing the roof to enjoy it. Let's take another look at this roof ...
