direct southern or eastern exposure. Get the basics for growing herbs in containersOnce the containers are prepped and ready, choose which herbs to plant based on your favorite recipes. I’ve grouped suggested herbs by their soil and light requirements in case you choose to place them in the same pot.

doesn't the soil get too hot for plants?
I am buying used versions of this on Craigs list, for a country garden setting on a farm. I hope to reduce my bending while tending plants. I am sure they will require extra water and could get hot in the south
Try farm and ranch i.e. Tractor Supply stores
I live in Sacramento area, would painting the containers white keep the plants from getting to hot here?
If you're on a budget, like many of us, you can get these a lot cheaper at a Farm & Fleet Store, any farm supply outlet, Ace Hardware, Tractor Supply. They won't have holes, but it's easy to have someone drill some holes, or if you do a "garden Lasagna" set up, you won't even have
True Value Hardware store (they'll probably need to order them from their warehouse...takes a week, max) (True Value expanded its selection in Farm Supplies a couple of years back.) 4' around $90-95 SKU# 457864 6' around $150-170 SKU#457926 3' around $75-85 SKU# 457835 Hope this helps :-)

Which air plants (if any) are poisonous to animals?
I am concerned that my cat who likes to chew on leaves, fake or real might fall ill from some of these plants.

The Cucina
Hi, I really love the cohesiveness of this room.. Especially the shelves housing the plants and how it relates to the backsplash tiles.. Would you mind telling me about this fixture, and are the plants live? Thank you!

The landscaping, designed in collaboration with Rush Wright Landscape Architects, is a free-flowing array of mostly native plants, including various species of eucalyptus and acacia.
country property embraces sharp lines and solid materials, but it’s the soft landscaping that adds warmth and colour to the exterior. Although the native plants require minimal watering, a drip-irrigation system was added to battle summer heatwaves. Earthy-toned pots on one side of the gravel driveway add a

What is the name of the green plant in front of the veranda? The one in between the mexican feather grass. A+ landscape layout!
of the Year from the Assn. of Professional Landscape Designers - it was over the top. The plant is called Tapeworm Plant or Ribbon Plant (Homalocladium platycladum). It's a bit slow growing but a striking plant and well worth it. We use it for a screen between the street and the house.
The grass is Mexican Feather Grass (Stipa tenuissima) - but be careful, it's invasive. It should not be planted near wildland where it can escape. The really low green ground cover is Myoporum parvifolium, the pink-flowered variety (sorry, it doesn't have a common name...) Happy gardening!
