term "quartz" is being used interchangeably with "quartzite." Quartz is man-made (Caeserstone, Silestone, etc.) and quartzite is natural. The picture above is referred to as "real quartz", but it's quartzite. Caeserstone, etc. is advertised as 94% quartz, but that's by weight, not volume. Despite
about quartz being bulletproof, it CAN etch/stain/scratch. My hunch is it's a reaction between acids and the resin, but I haven't confirmed that. Again, not all natural stones are susceptible to acids. I've had granite countertops that truly were bulletproof and even after several years, did not need

What brand and color quartz? Tnx!
Quartz If you're going with a quartz countertop, you have the option of installing a matching quartz sink. One thing to keep in mind with quartz however, is that the darker, more solid-colored quartzes tend to show scratches and dings much more than lighter

sell this countertop and have seen it on a 12 ft top. I believe that the repeat is 8 ft. This countertop is available at Lowes and Home Depot. It has a lot of depth to it and looks more real depending on what edge that you choose. Keep in mind, if you have a square edge on the front or the backsplash

It may have some natural ingredients, but it's definitely not pure quartz or a natural stone. The appeal

tmcinnes: I'm currently evaluating marble-like quartz options. I have a sample of Cambria Torquay. It's got more beige in it and not as much grey. Silestone Lagoon has more grey, but less white than this island countertop. I'm betting that it's not quartz.
carrera countertops with white tile backplash. (Also Silstone Lagoon or Caesarstone London Gray). My personal rule of thumb is this: If you have a polished marble countertop, do matte tile. If you have a honed countertop, do shiny backsplash (matte is ok too, if you want everything subdued). Never
