I hate the beam in the kitchen island but love the neutral colors, open floor plan and wood floors
for this contemporary, open-plan space. Very cool, but the seating zone needs to feel more relaxed than the more functional areas. The answer? Clean shapes, unobtrusive shades, but all covered in velvet. You immediately know you’re here to relax.
