Can U tell me what was used for the "shelf" that the water falls over?
I am looking for a stainless steel or metal Fall
Mascord. I am interested in doing a cable railing quite similar to this for one of my clients here in Portland. I really like the simplicity of this design. Can you share with me who fabricated the steel and wood and which cable hardware system was used? I would be so grateful. Thank you, Pangaea
details.. we were responsible for the design of the structure only. Material (and color) choices were made directly between the contractor and homeowner, and perhaps even an interior designer we didn't collaborate with. Good luck with your project!

how did this meet codes? Or how did you get around meeting codes? This seems like a risk for you as a designer too.
starting on the 3rd step. Many beautiful options without having to break the codes.. Puts everyone at risk, and people do fall down stairs... Would be a bummer day to fall off the seventh step on your back ; ) Ouchers... . On houzz there are a lot of liked stairs that don't meet code. I'm surprised

Very good design, same idea came to me; metallic frame more safe for floating stairs, better if you can hide it.
stringer is cut to provide a base for each step, or tread. Steps need to be perfectly equal in height; even a 1/4-inch difference can cause trips and falls.

The centerpiece of the foyer is the staircase. “We originally designed it to be a custom-built wood stair with steel stringers,” Gibson says. But the budget didn’t allow for a third-party builder, so UIC took up the job
