Both of these houses were on the Cool House Tour of 2008. They were newly constructed homes, designed to fit into their spot in the neighborhood and to optimize energy efficiency. due to lot orientation and proportion, we needed to find a way to get more light into the house, specifically during the middle of the day. the solution that we came up with was the location of the stairs along the long south property line, combined with the glass railing, skylights, and some windows

I would like to add this to my house on day, very modern and a good use of not making the space look cold with the wood tone and use of slate along the wall
