What is the rise and run of the stairs and how is the stringer attached.
I have a small staircase...roughly 300 in. in total length...220 in. of that length is the angle of the stairs coming downstairs. What would be a
This stair was a custom built over ten years ago. No longer have the info you request.
Thank you Conrado for posting the follow up on the stairs (they are fantastic).

Open tread stairs, wood treads with steel runners and glass.
Similar staircase configuration - steplights above stringer - stringer roughly 1-1/2" thick, but no gap at landing. Makes sense for gap and stringer to align.

we could monopolize on integrating the natural light into the interior, we did," says Wetzel. Case in point: The lack of risers on these white oak stairs opens up the view to the large window at the landing.

Questions2
How did you construct the stair?
Hi, is there steel in that stair or were you able to join wood stringers together somehow? I'm looking to build a U-shaped stair with wood stringers and am having a difficult time figuring out how to construct it, Thanks, Mark
Hi Mark, The exposed end of the stair is supported by the glulam stringer. There is no metal under the landing, but there is a glulam ledger along the same wall above the painting in this photo. Our structural
engineer figured this one out, and if I remember correctly there is a glulam beam running paralell to the treads that the stringer is bolted to. The treads are also fastened to a stringer that is hidden in the wall behind the GWB. Thanks for asking. Charlene.

I love these stairs and rails, but, weren't they an issue in building code compliance?
Unusual railing solution, the posts almost look like concrete in the photo. Do the steel posts hold the tension wihout a cap rail to prevent bowing?
they are galvanized steel. yes, they are well anchored to the floor so they will not budge

Douglas fir and has a steel and cable railing. A similar railing leads to the lower level, which contains two bedrooms, a rec room, a wine room and a media room.
The beams and posts are Douglas fir timber. A floating staircase leading to the loft level is also Douglas fir and has a steel and cable banister

Questions1
Are these stairs custom or manufactured?
We are rehabbing an old mining cabin and doing a sizable addition. This is the perfect balance of modern and rustic for our space. Were these stairs made custom, or where they sourced through a manufacturer? If you could point me in the right direction
contractor afterward. The stair is not complex, but it does have a few technical requirements to meet the code and make it comfortable to use. I'm not aware of an off-the-shelf option for something like a steel stair (cast iron spiral stairs excepted). Every set of stairs I've ever designed was either
fabricated in a shop (wood or steel) or built on site by the GC. With your project you might find a local welding shop willing to fabricate a steel stair. Alternately, you might have to go to the nearest larger town/city to find one. In either case, a simple switchback steel stair like this one can be done
