Just hanging out. Venting cooktops in islands has always been a challenge. This sculptural vent with glass accents doesn't grab too much attention. The real show is outside.

The roof is designed to retain the snow during the winter months and consequently was not a good location for the hood to vent. We chose to vent to the side instead.
