Cork trees are not cut down to harvest the cork — instead, the bark is harvested by hand every nine years. Cork trees can live up to 300 years, which means they can be harvested about
lifespan. The cork's processing is relatively straightforward — even waste scraps are collected for use.
Inside, cork floors, a walnut divider, and built-in entertainment center in the main living areas enrich the otherwise simple and sunny modern space. Frosted glass throughout the house provides natural light and privacy during the day and, filters the glow from the adjacent Moontower at night.

The flooring is cork, which is quiet, resilient, easy to clean, soft underfoot and a sustainable material.
what did you use to fill the edge between the wooden floor and ceramic tiles? Thanks is there any other choices?

Love your floors! You don't appear to have expansion joints and was wondering has this been ok? Have you experienced any cracking or movement due to the large area's that are covered? Also, do you have underfloor heating? Many thanks!!

Thanks for your comment about the terrazzo floors at our Lake Forest Park project. The lighter color was existing terrazzo, which we ground for a new look, and the darker color was new
and the floors are no exception. This project really stands out in a simply beautiful way. Great work!

The floor is covered with an ivory patched-cowhide rug. Hide has a luxurious texture and can take abuse from wet feet, so it's a great fit for a poolhouse.
