Is this a built in bench? I love the size and wood. Do you know where I can get something similar or designed like that
house’s entrance.
When kids are coming home they are only 7 feet from the kitchen. It is way too easy for them to pile their lunch boxes, agendas and all sorts of papers and art work on the kitchen table.
Beside the inconvenience of papers on out table we are eating at, it also all get mixed up with other
brilliant! Bench serving as a storage space is just perfect for family with kids and it leaves table free of cluster to do home work or any other required table space activity.

I'm curious - why would anyone want to sit on a bench? Isn't it a bit impractical??
don't mind benches for casual meals, I can see the issue if you're going to be sitting for an extended period at a table like this. I do like the look though, it's a simple and intimate.

Bench as the anti-focal point. Similar to the previous picture, two benches on either side of this table guarantee the attention is to what's outside the windows. These benches do a perfect job of "going away" — to be used only when needed.
The benches are from Crate and Barrel; a great find for the 19th century table..

Love the table and benches. Lights look great in this room
of the benches, because a drawback to my plan were the 16 chairs, green upholstered, that seemed to take away from the beauty of the table, so long benches seem to work.
like the way the legs go right to the top of the bench and blend in with the seat. must be fastened with pocket screws from underneath. I also like the small space on the cross member.
