light fixtures and custom furnishings are throughout the home giving a refreshing modern twist to traditional mountain style. We incorporated a great mixture of steel, stone and hardwoods to assemble a balanced theme in this timber frame home since there are beams and posts exposed on all four levels

The ceiling height in the dining area is 10ft. The Great Room of the design is supposed to be vaulted, but the builder of this particular home chose to lower it and put beams on there instead. You can view plan details here: http://houseplans.co/house-plans/2459 Thanks!
Here's the marketing floorplan for this home: http://houseplans.co/house-plans/2459/ It shows the ceiling is actually designed to be vaulted - with a flat portion over the doors at 14ft.
I like the look and feel of this home. Classic and yet very livable.
