Love the counter top with the sunflowers. What kind of wood is that?
What is the height of the board and batten?
Is that board and batton on the walls? It is lovely and would like to do that in my kitchen.
I believe it is alder, stained with a "bar-top" finish.
Can you tell me how far apart you placed the boards, the finished height and the widths of each of the boards used.
Like the height of bead board but smaller boards
ceiling leaves you room for an accent color. We could also do the ceiling like this in the study and dining room if you like it better than the 1x6 boards abutted. This is a step in the direction of formal which could be appropriate for those areas.

This 5 1/2" MDF beaded board was actually there when I bought the house 12 years ago. I just painted it a dark greige. You can get/order it at most hardware stores, Home Depot
this is 5 1/2" MDF beaded board. We are planning on painting the wainscot in hall but would probably stain family room stair area so MDF board would not work there.
Wood floor. White baseboard. Color wainscotting

mysmunchie, I apologize this was a custom on-site mixed stain and I can't recall the exact color. It is similar to a honey walnut tone and is shown here on alder millwork.

What type of wood did you use for the mantel? I love the contrast of the painted finish with the natural look of the wood mantel. Great job!
What material specifically is the panel type wood above the mantle?
Hi, sorry we didn't answer this question earlier. But the wood in the middle is rough cedar. It was whitewashed and then sanded back down and stained a bit more. It was custom done for us by a local craftsman
Architecturaldepot (on line) has hundreds. All prices in Urethane and wood. All pictured with exact measurements
Bead Board around fireplace mantel. Painted blue...and bead board in bookshelves painted blue

chairs are super comfortable and I liked the light colored wood fee which make them look lighter and airier.
The ceiling is just white, the same as the bead board and trim throughout, except that I used flat paint rather
We painted the bead board wainscot in this house with a bright white eggshell paint. The C2 paint is the blue-green above the wainscot and it is flat. The ceiling is also flat. I really try to avoid paint with a sheen even in kitchens and bathrooms. The paint companies are finally responding with
rather than eggshell on the ceiling. I really questioned whether I should leave the bead board on the ceiling or not because it makes the ceiling more present. In the end I left it and I think it's ok.

Chalk Board Paint San Francisco Dining Room
Yes that is correct. I used chalk board paint from Benjamin Moore paints. You have to do two coats and 48 hours in-between each coat. The framing that appears to be framing in picture is actually part of the architecture
Adding bead work to very simple
I like using the chalkboard as a "border" - I would use white to complement our bead board…and the constant cursive writing is nice too!
interesting way to use chalk board paint!
