Is there a crack in the concrete floor in this picture? If so, was it intended, or related to the weight of the fireplace? Thx
Hello and thanks for the question about the concrete. This cast in place floor is standard concrete. It was then ground and polished to our desired sheen, and then a dye treatment was applied before the floor was sealed. We
filling epoxy and were then ground and polished with the floor. In this photo, the crack has absolutely nothing to do with the weight of the fireplace.

Most of what you're seeing in this photo is cast concrete wall. The texture and colour are surprisingly warm. In the lower left corner, you can see a bit of the gloss white cabinets from the kitchen.
How are the concrete walls with moisture? Is it concrete through and through from exterior all to interior?

Isn't wood supposed to be more environmentally friendly and wouldn't the echo fact be better with wood? Is the concrete easier to install?
