Are these bookshelves part of a shelving system or custom made?
If part of a shelving system for sale, where can I purchase it?
Are the shelves made of wood or metal?
Also, how are the shelves fixed to the wall and are the shelves height-adjustable?
What is the wall paint color and the shelving paint color?
It appears as though the back of the bookcase is the wall. Are the shelves attached to the wall and how? Also what is the widest span to be strong enough to hold books without
Where would I purchase a library ladder?
I think usually you would want to be sure to attach furniture of this size to the wall for safety reasons, but that might be my California earthquake country talking. The strength of the shelves will depend on

Two perpendicular walls are covered with books in this room, separated by a large window that brings in plenty of daylight. Note how the shelves are rounded at the window, a nice Art Deco touch.

Library in dining room - design idea
I like the way the book shelves look
Library in the dining room. Nice.
By adding a library to your dining room it creates a more useful space. Luxury combo shown here.
tightly and pull them forward, and they'll look great even if your shelves aren't as beautiful as these.
When space is tight, always ask yourself: How can I use this room for two purposes instead of one? Here a dining room doubles as a library. It saves space, and nothing warms up a room like a wall of
dining rooms. But they need to work harder than just hosting Sunday dinners. How to break this habit? Choose a complementary auxiliary use, such as a library. I consider dining with books to be the ultimate luxury. Whether talk turns to travel or philosophy, reference materials will be close at hand.

I am wondering about the source for the shelves on 2 back walls? thanks
The shelves in this room were designed by Cuppett; built and installed by a local millwork contractor.
I really like how the shelves extend past the book ends. Nice detail

Can you tell me if the indirect lighting is strictly the ceiling lights and their positioning/angling? Or are the shelves lit some other way. My husband is light sensitive - I'm trying to gather ideas on lighting his library in subtle tones - adding table
your beautiful library design. I was wondering if you could tell me how you created the print. I have been wanting to create something similar with a painting by Vermeer. Is this a giant canvas or a mural? Thanks
Fabulous library, thank you for sharing. Please let us know, if possible, who is this print of, as we finally agree with our teenager, on an appropriate wall decor.
The painting is lit from recessed down lights and the busts are lit from below by uplights built into the custom shelving unit we designed.

Love that the shelving takes the form of the space
Access all areasIf you have high ceilings, make the most of them by taking built-in shelving all the way up to the top (including over the door). Mix in pictures, photos and ornaments among the books for an eye-catching display.

I didn't see any response to the manufacturer of the library ladder. Any chance you could reply. I would love to know how I could get a ladder similar to this one. It's

selection unless we have been asked to design it.
Hi there, we actually don't know where the chairs are from. The clients selected the furniture after the project was complete. We generally do not get involved in furniture selection unless we have been asked to design it.
One idea for the entrance on the ground floor is to give it a library feel. Shelving floating over say some mid century credenza. With a library ladder. And a couple of interesting chairs. If that does not work, perhaps that's the approach for the master
