Hello. We have a set up similar to this photo, except the walking path between the table and counter (with counter stools) is more narrow: about 2 feet. We are now searching for a rug for under the table but I'm struggling with size. I am pretty certain the rug should
should accommodate the chairs being pulled away from the table, but if I just use that as a guide, the walking path will basically be one foot of rug and one of wood flooring. It does not look like you we're concerned about that in this room. Is there a rule of thumb?

Recycled Baltic pine wood flooring forms a walkway from the entry to a sliding wall that leads to a patio. Burnished concrete screed flanks the wood path, providing a dark backdrop in the otherwise light interior.

home has elements of Tudor style architecture and from the moment you walk through the gate, the residence is overflowing with charm. A cobblestone path leads you to a two story central turret complete with its original arched Douglas Fir door, lion knocker and a quaint pointed slate roof. The turret
dining room table should be at least 4 feet so that people can walk between the two and diners have room to pull out chairs. But an entry door in the path and/or a larger scaled space will need more space — 6 feet or more.
