a laminate flooring for inlay but table is 54" in length and floor planks look like they come about 4ft or so. Would staggering look funny on a table, or run them width-wise, or any ideas to make this work?
What type of paneling did you use? V rustic or tongue and groove?

ceiling with a v-groove. You should be able to find at most hardware stores. You will want to prime the entire board in a similar color to the finish color since wood will move and if there is a gap showing the groove you want to see only the finish color, not bare wood or another color.
I think this is the look I am after in my next new house, rustic but with a bit more elegance. Like timber floors with a chandelier.

This floor was not sealed. But any natural stone sealer would protect although would likely change the finish.
