The kitchen feels light and airy, thanks to a soft color palette and open shelving. Rather than create a massive center island, Kiel built an island worktable with open shelving using a variety of inexpensive materials. Thank you. This room was when we originally rented it, an alcove off the kitchen. Said to be the living room. We built the wall and flipped the rooms so that the larger space was the living room. The only inconvenience was that our closet was in the adjoining room.
