guess is you're talking about the diagonal infill members. These members are parallelogram-shaped in section. Each piece is a strip of 3/4" furniture-grade plywood set at an angle with the long edges cut to the same angle. This emphasizes the striping at the edges of the plywood material.

We would probably suggest the black/white version with natural wood steps over this taupe/white. Yes, one roll is 11 yards long and should easily cover standard steps. We can provide wallpaper samples for you to see in your space before purchasing a roll as well. Just give our
wallpaper. If you're concerned about durability, you could use a vinyl wallpaper which is more durable than paper based and can be wiped clean with a damp sponge.
