glass or marbles. What would you use for backing (to attach the corks on? I don't want to attach the corks directly to the wall. I'm planning to do 1/2" border at the top and bottom so I suppose I could make a mini box to lay them all in and attach that to the wall. What materials might you use?
A piece of quarter inch luan plywood with a glued and stapled sheet of 1/16" cork. The cork to cork should give you the uniform bond your looking for and a background that looks good without having to add odds and ends.
Could you do this with 1p pieces?
