1) what material/name are the B&W checkered, matte finished floors? 2) where did you buy it?
tohsalem - yes I have considered painting my wood floors in this pattern, it the time that has me putting it off. How has the finish held up for you? It would be in a high traffic zone in my house so not sure about the maintenance.

We are getting ready to stain our floors. I have not seen a stain called dark chocolate, what is the mix to get this color?
They are the exisiting oak floors but stained a very dark chocolate
"We preserved and reused millwork, doors, hardware and light fixtures wherever we could," says Hallberg.The existing oak floors were stained a dark chocolate tone, and Hallberg brought in the antique chandelier. The molding, staircase, banister and other architectural fixtures are all original to the home

The Z shape bead that u finished the drywall ceiling with, is it a flat one or bullnosed?

Thanks for your interest in Sean Michael Design. I used flat finish for the grey stripes, and I used satin on the black stripes. The alternating finishes create a nice effect.

metro shelving is a fabulous solution. While it's seen here in the garage, I like the look of metro shelving in the kitchen because of its chrome finish. You can also add clear mats so that items stand tall and are sturdy.
