1) what material/name are the B&W checkered, matte finished floors? 2) where did you buy it?
tohsalem - yes I have considered painting my wood floors in this pattern, it the time that has me putting it off. How has the finish held up for you? It would be in a high traffic zone in my house so not sure about the maintenance.

We are getting ready to stain our floors. I have not seen a stain called dark chocolate, what is the mix to get this color?

"We preserved and reused millwork, doors, hardware and light fixtures wherever we could," says Hallberg. The existing oak floors were stained a dark chocolate tone, and Hallberg brought in the antique chandelier. The molding, staircase, banister and other architectural fixtures are all original to the home

with dark chocolate floors can i do this color scheme
with chocolate brown floor can I do this wall color scheme
Thanks for your interest in Sean Michael Design. I used flat finish for the grey stripes, and I used satin on the black stripes. The alternating finishes create a nice effect.

metro shelving is a fabulous solution. While it's seen here in the garage, I like the look of metro shelving in the kitchen because of its chrome finish. You can also add clear mats so that items stand tall and are sturdy.
