Early ebony furniture. Ebonized furniture has its origins in ancient Egypt. In fact, carved pieces of ebony depicting the lives of pharaohs have been found in ancient Egyptian tombs. But ebonized furniture didn't
popular until the 16th century, when Belgian craftsmen began using the dense wood to make detailed panels and moldings. We don't know this marble-topped ebony table's origins, but it is an exquisite example of the 16th-century style.

Michael Robert Construction, can you please give me the exact name of the paint and the gel stain ( ebony?)
this stain! My contractor is staining our maple staircase this weekend. Can I achieve this same look with maple? If so, what was used after the ebony gel stain? Thanks
Your best bet is to stain a small section that is out of sight (or another piece of the same material) to see what the finished product will look like. This was an waiting bannister that was restained using the Ebony minwax gel stain. Good luck!
Thank you so much! They are a gel stain - a sort of mixture between paint and stain- and the color is Ebony.
