Thats a question for your flooring finisher. Check out a product by Rubio Monocoat called Fume. Either that or talk to your finisher about a white wash finish.

No, they are finished with oil-based polyurethane
The floor is Aspen Silver Cream from Ann Sacks. It comes in an 8"x 16" size and we cut it into the 4"x 16" to make the herringbone pattern. The dark part of the floor is white oak.

Hi Chris - Good question. The best kinds of wood for wine racks are mildew resistant, and also moisture retentive to help keep the corks moist. Good choices are Clear Redwood
Redwood and some species of mahogany. Avoid stains or finishes on the parts of the wine rack that are in contact with the bottles, so you don't introduce any foreign odors to the wine. I'm looking todo this in my dining room. Is it painted or stained or did you buy it black? I do not have casing around my doorways, how do I finish the ends. Thank you!
The water based finish is clear and won't add the golden tone that comes from oiled based poly finishes. The floor also looks site finished. White Oak is a really pretty species and can also be easily stained whatever color you like.
Are these preto noshed floors or solid? Manufacturer? Thanks
