like the floor! The wood is a character grade white oak and we matched a wood sample we found with an espresso stain. The wood was water popped which is a process that opens the wood grain and allows it to absorb the stain so a darker color was achieved. Good luck with your project!

IPE wood flooring, zebrawood cabinet doors with mahogany end panels, quartz and limestone countertops, and Douglas Fir trim and doors. Exterior materials are completely maintenance-free: metal siding and aluminum windows and doors. The metal siding has an alternating pattern using two different siding
linoleum floors, low-VOC paints, and natural wool carpet.

project. The floor and stair treads are IPE, with a mostly clear finish (just a little pigment to even out the color). The handrail is Sapele with a clear finish. The interior doors, door casings and wall base are vertical grain Douglas fir, with a complicated custom stain that I use to lighten the color.
