Small section of copper with wood and concrete makes a statement entryway.
the concrete mixed with the copper and wood
This patina on the copper goes well with the desaturated surrounding.
concrete mixed with wood and copper
This last example, by Coates Design Architects Seattle, illustrates how oxidized copper can be a design statement, bringing attention to one area, in this case the entrance. Even though the copper section is much smaller than the wood and concrete, its color grabs the most attention.

Where can I find the copper railings?
Copper will be quite expensive and it will patina over time, turning a greenish/blue color. If you want it to stay a copper color, you have to continually keep it clean with a copper cleaner. If you still want the look of copper less the expense, I would suggest going with steel and having it powder
powder coated a "copper" color. You could also add a patina, like the antiquing of mailboxes once it's finished. This would be substantial savings going this route. If you are local to the Memphis area, I would suggest getting in touch with Jennifer and setting up a time to meet with her on the specifics

This entry takes solid doors and sidelights to a new level — a wonderfully gorgeous level. I love how open, enormous (and blue!) the sidelights are, and how much their airy lightness contrasts with the solid door, which has its own unique treatment of horizontal slates
