A heavily wooded and sloping site inspired a bridged entry to the expanded foyer on a contemporary "Deck House". Taking cues from the surrounding landscape, the supports were canted to take on a more natural and generous approach. PHOTOGRAPHY: Anice Hoachlander, Hoachlander Davis Photography
Reminds me of a tree house. Bridge leading to house in the middle of the trees.
the ha-ha, or sunken ditch, served the same purpose. This raised bridge provides a spectacular entrance, as it spans woodland surrounding the deck house.

The Lake Forest Park Renovation is a top-to-bottom renovation of a 50's Northwest Contemporary house located 25 miles north of Seattle.
What would you call the architectural style of this house?
I have been a huge fan of houses like this--sustainably built, large windows, lots of wood and metal features, very open and functional. But outside of "PNW home" I never have any idea what to search for or how to research it...
Renovation. The original architect was not either Keck and Keck or Edward Dart. Both of those firms practiced primarily in the Chicago area. This house is located about 25 miles north of Seattle, and it was originally designed by a local architect in the 1950's.
