main entry is a heavily patterned deep red and gold. I need to pick a runner for the large stairs and hallway but am I locked into a solid color? Can it be patterned? Not by todays standards but those of the era. I love how this looks in this photo But it is carpet, not a runner om hardwood. Anyone have
patterns, and sometimes had 10 or 15 in just one room, ceiling, walls, furniture, borders, rugs, etc. Don't be afraid to use a pattern for the rugs/ carpets as long as the colors go well with the wall paper and the size of the pattern is different from that of the wallpaper.

negative, however. The overscale door and decorative surface pattern are stunning. From our vantage point, the door has a strong relationship with the bold red entry walk. Together the elements make an unforgettable impact.
