Please let me know details of the floor tiles
How high is the hearth from the floor?
This is a running bond of slate tiles.
Hello, The bench in the right side of this photo is a Maple top, the hearth under the woodstove is slate. Hope that helps!
wood stove is a tile wall. The non-combustible zone around the wood stove is required to be clear of material that can catch fire. This tile alcove is designed so the framing is outside of this zone. The tile is a metallic porcelain tile from Walker Zanger called the ironworks tile in a copper finish

Hi Jennifer, are those the original tiles or are they reproduction? I would love more information. Thank you! Kathy Marlin, Miami
Hi Kathy, The tiles are from a custom tile studio in California called California Pottery Tiles. The are a custom studio and produce historical reinterpretations of the famous Malibu tiles from the 20's. Their website is http://www.calpot.com/ and they have an application where you can select your colors
people to deal with. There is another picture of a bathroom with light blue tiles and a mermaid ..the client like light blue and we custom created the mermaid and picked the colors. They are known for their handmade ceramic tile: Old Malibu, Catalina & Arts & Crafts styles. Have fun!!

Do the tiles come with the powdery finish, or is there a wash?
I have red terra cotta square tiles in my sunroom and would like them to have the look of these tiles if it's possible to achieve this look with a wash.
Hi - where did you purchase the tile from? What size are the tiles and what is the size of the foyer?
They came that way. They're antique tiles.
The glass panes and the cotto style tiles are fab!

Can these tiles be used in a cold climate?
Looking to use these tiles for an outdoor patio either as flooring or as an accent on a concrete retaining wall. Live on the east coast in the DC
Most cement tile manufacturers do not recommend using these tiles for outdoor applications in freezing climates. Because most of our work has been in temperate climes and/or indoors, we have not tested our tiles for freeze-thaw conditions. In general, there is no problem using our tiles outdoors, but
