wood guarantee and wood rot problem - vines void the warranty

In certain situations the horizontal beams and posts can be capped with flashing to prolong the life. Part of having a vine on a trellis or arbor is pruning and maintaining the vine so that it doesn't lay on the adjacent house or become a huge pile of vegetation.
