Questions22
Is this a shared chimney with an indoor fireplace on the backside?
And that can't be a pass-through fireplace: critters would use it to waltz on through into the house (unless a screen is in place, but who would want to spend their money heating or cooling
What I mean is, is there a fire place indoors as well that shares the same chimney as the outdoor fireplace in this picture?
How visible is the masonary of fireplace using wndow next to it?
Yes, there is a fireplace in the family room that backs up to the outdoor one and a flue in the same chimney for the basement fireplace.
another that would like to know type, kind of stone info on fireplace, hope someone will respond..
The firplaces are back to back with masonry between them. The chimney contains the flues from the outdoor, family room and basement fireplaces.

Is this fireplace open to inside and out? What kind of structure is between the house wall and indoor/outdoor fireplace? Can one put an inside/outside placement of fireplace?
Full design of a wood fireplace?
What are the dimension of the covered porch on the fireplace side.
Looking a the other photos of the project, it appears that the interior fireplace is in a different part of the house. Having said that, it is possible to do either back-to-back or even a see-through inside/outside fireplace. We don't recommend the see-through type because of the different heating
becomes late, you go back inside the house to find that the fireplace has made it uncomfortably warm inside the house. Since you have no control over how much heat goes to each side, it isn't a very practical solution. Two back-to-back fireplaces are better.

So want to add this fireplace/great room addition!
Indoor and outdoor fireplaces with one chimney. Two flues.
Imagine sitting inside this home, snug beside the fireplace, gazing out at the views through the windows on either side. This chimney’s single volume conceals two flues, as evidenced by the caps at the top: one flue for the interior fireplace, and another for the exterior one.
