I want to replace my chimney cap and this is something I really like in terms of design and aesthetics. Don't know if it is functional though. Thanks.
Any concerns with standing water in the tiny horizontal/flat sections of the metal screen? Rust issues?
The chimney does have a typical spark arrestor. I don't like looking at them and usually provide a metal screen, like this, that the sheetmetal fabricator makes. May 23, 2012 at 9:03am Like

update. Our ranch is the exact footprint of this one. We love it, but it could use some freshening up! Could your refer me to some new ideas to replace the traditional medallion vent on the portico? TIA
we are replacing all of our 3 over 3 windows and the contractor is suggesting going back in with 2 over 2 on our ranch. I can see you have mixed the window here. What do you think of replacing all windows with more "modern"?
