Terry thanks for the question. This house actually has what is known as reverse board and batten. Because of the assembly it actually works very similar to a rain screen. So no, it should not hold water.

kinda stumped trying to add to home have angle roof with reverse gable in middle home need to add addition next to roof that has reverse gable trying not to put 2 reverse gables next to each other which will form cricket water issue??? see your picture here
