“cedar shingles without any treatment. Would they grey and weather like the homes in Nantucket? Have you been happy with the bardobec shingles. Builders here use malibec shingles but the warantee is void if the shingles are not treated. Bleaching oil dipped shingles are fairly standard here but they do”
“"color". New shingles have a more yellow look, and as they weather they turn silver gray. After a few years they turn a dark gray. These shingles should last 15-25 years when installed properly. These shingles in particular are made by Bardobec Inc. and are Grade A "Extra" . These roof shingles are red cedar”

“Thank you for your question. Almost all houses on Nantucket use white cedar shingles for sidewall and red cedar on the roof. As far as the sidewall, these shingles are untreated and do not have a "color"”
