Modern details on a traditional farmhouse porch. Whit Preston Photography
I like to paint the exterior brick but not sure what color. Any suggestions? Currently the brick has the look of a saltillo brick which is red with a non-uniform white coat on it. It actually looks like the brick was lime-washed but you still can see the red from the brick in like 50% of the area. Thanks
We are looking to use an Englert roof (pre-weathered Galvalume color) and we're desperately trying to find a house with this make and color. Thanks!
I love this texas prairie look!!!

We are looking to build on a narrow lot in historic area. This house would fit perfectly into the neighborhood! What is the sq footage and the dimensions of the house
It appears to me that the orangish tint of the windows is really the light from the house reflecting through it in the late afternoon. If you look carefully, you can see lights in the house. They might be the older style of bulbs that don't put out the white light you see these days.

Perhaps your style veers even further from the traditional barn look, yet you love the idea of rustic country styling. Note this modern rendition of a farmhouse, which takes cues from barns, shacks and chicken

Not crazy about the white, but the look of the fence could be nice on our property - esp along the sides
Simple greenery and classic white fencing round out the home's traditional Lowcountry look. The terne metal roofing makes a surprising statement against the home's whitewashed cypress exterior. More:Houzz Tour: A Sweet Southern MakeoverSouthern Style: Lowcountry LuxeCozy Cabin Style

Ok, I keep getting questions about color. Color selection is a long process where selections are made and tweeked until they look good on site and with other colors. Find a color consultant in your area. Its well worth the cost. Your results will be more interesting, elegant, tasteful

In the minimalist traditional style, the plan is usually kept compact (with minor exceptions) in overall form, as evidenced in all of these examples. On this house the rectangular
