who makes the dark wood flooring and what color is it?
The wood in the kitchen is an engineered bamboo. It is made by combining a light and dark shredded bamboo which gives it the brindle pattern. I believe the product is called Synergy Bamboo.
effective design. Things kept simple. Dark stained hardwood flooring in combination match with the white walls and the dark ceiling. The kitchen has a brownish floor (somebody below said it is a bamboo composition) that goes well with the black flooring in the living. Also dark colored walls in the kitchen.
Based on the color of the floors and same color around the art niche, I am guessing the stair risers are painted in the same finish. I have used the Porch paint from Sherwin Williams for this type of application and it works well. Good Luck!

Lovely design!!! We are currently building a new house in NC, and we will have coffered ceilings in our great room. We are also using can lighting. Can you tell me if every square in this coffered ceiling has a can light? I cannot decide how many to put
Michael I luv all your work and have question about lighting
I have purchased a drum light like the one used in the dining room, however I notice in this room the lights are not all drum. Is this okay? Do you have advice on what would be ideal for a grand entry

Where did you get the light fixtures?
Where can I buy that style of lights, without paying hundreds of dollars for one?
The lights that were used in this project were purchased from Jones Lighting in Baltimore, Maryland.
HI - Very carefully ! (joke) Well this can be tricky. You can try to surround it with a dark wall color to cut down the contrast or have a collection

Brown & teal is a classic color combo that can work with just about any decor. A dark brown sofa is eternally in style - dress it up with some funky, graphic pillows. There is no shortage of fabrics that combine the hues you are attracted to! http://www.houzz

Where can I find the brass light fixtures above the bookcases?
I have an old craftsman with very dark box beam ceilings and trim. Several windows but not a lot of light. I just painted the walls (all 4) BenMoore
Can you tell me where you got that the slip cover arm chair in the corner next to the dark wall?
hi. is the white trim/wood painted w/a semi gloss finish? thank you:)
BenMoore Marine Blue...now I'm stumped with what to do with adjacent rooms which open to the dark blue room. Any ideas? I feel like I need to lighten things up... Thanks so much!
Indian white and Classic Light Buff or in another chip they pair Bunglehouse Blue with Antiquarian Brown (looks rust-like) and White Hyacinth. So, taking my cue from that, I’d paint adjacent rooms in one of the whites or Light Buff. And in each room I’d have accents of dark blue, white, Buff, and Rust

DuraSeal or Minwax Special & Dark Walnut mix? I have to make a floor choice today. Thanks!
This is a gorgeous floor. Is it a mix of Minwax special walnut and dark walnut 50/50? Is the stain on an oak floor?
Dear Dresser Home, Was this a pre-finished flooring or custome stained. I really like the colour and that it has no yellow/orange tinge. Could you specify the the wood type and stain used

how hard is it to keep the dark wood floor clean? Does it show all of the dust?
Keeping a light colored rug clean is no different
Actually, a very dark stained bamboo- looks like walnut!
It could be oak with a really dark ebony/walnut stain.
It's a custom green grey mix Benjamin Moore.
I just moved into a house with Dark hardwood floors. They look great as others said so long as no sunlight is on them then you see EVERYTHING. They are SO much work. I used to be OCD about clean floors but I can't do it with these floors, even if I cleaned every

I'm sorry folks. This was a custom mix. We tried about 6-8 different mixes of standard stains to get this hue. I know we used charcoal and brown in the mix. I try not to use the tinted waxes over the stains because it tends to suck the highlights
