Hi! Looks great! Love the wood floors. Is it a special brand that deals with the water/humidity in a bathroom? I think I see a shower in the mirror, and we're hoping to attain
Thank you so much for the helpful information! We just finished wallpapering and installing the bead board in the bathroom. Now that we're ready to hang the mirror, we'll most likely use the wooden cleat. That appears to be the best option. Thanks
carry these. The 2 1/4" size is still oversized (from the 1" or 1 1/4" versions you find in the DIY hardware type stores) and also has a nice deep bead. Good luck!

Cottage Addition - Exterior
In this project, a contrasting 1.5 story cottage-style board and batten addition was added to a traditional 1902 foursquare. Designed by Meriwether Felt, AIA. Photo by Andrea Rugg.
It's board & batten siding. We used cement board for the board and batten and the lap siding on this house for lower maintenance. Houzz wrote a nice piece on this kind of siding here: http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/3221642/list/Renovation-Detail--Board-and-Batten-Siding

Herring Creek Farmhouse
Sarah, this question comes up weekly on Houzz, often with polls included in the question thread. Wood flooring always wins in the kitchen. All of our clients use wood in their kitchens. The polyurethane finish would be ideal for this situation as well.
the kitchen. I love the look of the pine floors and want to keep the historic feel of the house, but everyone I talk to is cautioning me away from wood floors in the kitchen because of possible water damage (and dents in the case of pine because it is so soft). I don't mind it looking worn, but don't

19th Century Farmhouse Renovation; updated photos by Mick Hales
vanity designed to look like a farm work table, and a marble top. Painted wide bead board and recessed wood framed medicine cabinet with industrial galvanized steel lights complete the aesthetic. Original wide board wood floors were restored.
What is the floor wood and finish? It is beautiful !
1/2" thick x 8" wide poplar boards work well for the wainscoting but I have found it does have to be custom milled. The flooring is the original antique pine.
Hi again, How thick are the boards? Looking at the hardware stores, I am not sure which thickness is right for this application... Thanks!
