We often use a mixture of grey and white cement and sometimes white lime for a softer, more historic mortar. We don't

I'm redoing a 1866 wine press barn.....Any tips on how to match the existing concrete/mortar on the foundation....I have several spots were the mortar is like powder, I was going to just dig out the bad and point up.

the maçon used a lime mortar mix which is synonymous with that region. We haven't got around to getting shutters yet but generally, they are always painted dark brown, though I'm going with a more contemporary look using F&B French Gray.
