I am trying to incorporate my late sister's 18 inch wide 2 inch thick cutting board next to my granite counter in a new kitchen I am planning. Looking for ideas as the granite is thinner than the cutting board, cabinet people tell me this

lumber yard. They were outside and probably oak but could be beech, walnut or white pine. Often these beams come from barns 80 or even 100 years old and cut from trees in mature forests back then and from trees that are just not available now.
