My house is almost identical to this - balloon frame construction and the same wooden boards. I'm very interested in removing my traditional
I want to add wood paneling on my fireplace wall, the problem is the fireplace isn't centered under the ceiling

on display, but putting frequently used tools in an easy-to-grab spot is key. Fill an open-top bin or basket with your materials and store it in the room
