Where is the kitchen in the house? Front or back of the house?
tell me the length and width measurements of the kitchen and the island? I am making something much smaller but i am afraid that if I get it wrong, I might create an elevator shaft appearance. If I can downsize from what you did, I might be able to make it work. I don't know enough about this process

We have a high pitched ceiling too and are relying on bell jars as our primary light source in the kitchen. How did you get the extra long chain and cord for a bell jar, as most are only 6 or 8 feet?

from wood on the land, the kitchen cabs with no appliances came in @ $30,000 and the farmhouse sink with faucets was @ $2,000. This project was completed several years ago so I imagine everything has gone up. Hope this helps.
