I wonder because the cabinetry that sits right on the counter top looks like it could be an extra large appliance garage, something I am trying to design. If so, do the homeowners like the counter top depth or do they wish it were deeper for more food prep space?
Did you have this reclaimed wood planed before joining together for the top? If so, how thick was the wood before you did so? Thanks!
Where did you find the kitchen island itself? We've been looking for something just like it to top with local wood.
What type of finish is used on the top of the kitchen island? satin, beeswax or something else?
We built the island top ourselves. We are located in Philadelphia. Please contact me directly via my website for more information and pricing.

Can the designer tell me the exact color of the wall? and the trim? Thank you.
too many heights (compare mirror on desk, sconces, paintings). The dominant color theme seems a rather insipid pink-tan. Sorry to be negative but designers need to hear what doesn't work too.
solution. The design of this mantle was created from an antique photograph the homeowners provided our firm. The mantle was then produced by Lititz Planing Mill out of Lititz, PA. Your could try contacting them or a local millshop or cabinet maker to help you produce a similar design.

Hi there, Zarah! We are architects, not interior designers, but there is plenty of advice on Houzz that might help you. Try looking through these idea books: http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/query/han
We are an architecture firm and I don't feel like we are the best to answer that question. I would check with local landscape/hardscape firms.

I am wondering if the back table is available to order through your design firm
Amazing room. I would love to order the back table if it is available to order through your firm. Thanks!!
notice the small black table is off centered. I always struggle with that. Is there a reason it is not centered under the window? If so, explain the design consequences of doing it off center if any. Thanks
because of the table top decor.
I'm quite certain the bark aluminum vases are from Michael Aram. He has many fabulous items in his collection. They can be purchased from his website or from a designer. http://www.michaelaram
Hi Cynthia, are those shades installed on top of the door so no drilling into the doors is required? Thanks.

Thanks for your interest! Unfortunately, as an architecture firm we do not normally keep records of the paint colors used in our projects. They are usually decided by the clients and/or interior designer. As a suggestion, however, I would look at Highlands Green by Benjamin Moore.

installed the stained piece. The end piece I'm thinking about is like the one used in the tile for the bath at the very top. It is hard to see, but they used a mitre joint to finish the top piece. http://www.houzz.com/photos/540881/rausch-house-traditional-bathroom-st-louis
Benjamin Moore White Dove seems like a great option! As an architecture firm we are certainly no experts when it comes to choosing paint, but from our experience I would recommend Benjamin Moore White Dove or Decorator's White to pair with the yellow wall paint. Hope that helps!

Here’s a true find in Toronto with lots of original elements: a gently curved tub, hexagonal floor tiles (note the designs within the layout) and subway tile walls with glossy black trim. The pretty casement window affords plenty of light, and a rough-hewn stool makes reaching
