What wood are the arched wood beams made of? What was the size of mill stock? Did you cut them on site with a band saw or. We're they cut at a lumber mill? Thx,
Rileyjo, thank you so much for the inquiry. I was the stone provider and mason on this particular house and can only provide the stone selection with certainty. The stone that we used was our Enoree Split Ledgestone. This stone is light to medium grey with some light brown/tan accents. Unfortunately
to cut the radius out of. This process would have more than likely been done in a workshop as opposed to on site. I hope this helps but if you have any other questions please let me know. FYI, the builder for this project is no longer in business. If this were not the case, he could answer these questions

What type of stone was used?
There seems to be a lot of interest in the layout of this garage and the room above. For example, where are the stairs, mechanicals, etc...? Are there rear dormers? Any help is appreciated by all. Thanks.
what is the trim made out of
minimum width and minimum 2 feet either side & between I would guess 22 foot minimum width. (9 foot doors would be better and that would make the garage 24 feet wide.) Also assuming there is a bonus room above judging from the dormer & side windows, there will also be stairs with a minimum 3' width between

The owner made a change to the house and we had some extra trusses, so we made a shed. It also acts as a covered eating area for get togethers.
built this on the fly, so I don't have any prints to give you an exact answer. I believe the garage portion was 9' wide by 12' deep and the patio was 13' wide by 12' deep. Hope this was helpful. Thanks for the question.

This was made of material from pallets that the brick and stone were delivered on. The depth is simply due to the inconsistency of the thickness of the various pallet boards.

Any and all info about this door would be great! Thanks so much
It looks amazing! Few questions... 1. Is this Ipe? 2. Is it mounted on metal (steel?) 2 x 4's? 3. Any other info about how they continued the siding above the roofline would be appreciated. Thanks!
be possible to incorporate the wood slat idea on a 1960's bungalow? The front (which has a single door, living room and kitchen window) and a gable end and one side of the house which has a side door and two windows are what you see from the road.
No, we have never had an issue with cracking or shifting of any type with our driveway. However, we generally park on the street so we aren't constantly bearing weight on it. It's super tough though. Sorry for the delay in answering!

Any wood sealer or preservative will aid in making the Cedar last longer, however, good drainage is the key to the long term success.
We have done some experimenting and the best product to preserve cedar that we have found is called "Australian Timber Oil". It is made by Cabot.
