..I'd like to know how the landscape architect balanced and stabilized the concrete pavers to the right of the home. It seems like they would fall over with the average adults weight placed anywhere but the center of each paver. Any ideas how this was done?!

Dream home. Living roof in forest!!
perpendicular and parallel lines of the roof that echo the patterning of the bark. Add to that the natural lines of the greens on the roof, and this home is a perfect reflection of the forest surrounding it.

yes, I think this would work great for a basement, the light wash of white paint allows some of the natural character of the wood grain to come through without overwhelming space like the old panelling of the 5o's basements.
